Frequently asked questions

What is Twinbook?

Twinbook turns static books, videos, notes, and PDFs into adaptive learning systems that remember context and evolve with every learner. It's an all-in-one digital experience for your content — not another AI wrapper, but a new architecture powered by context and memory.

Who is it for?

Learners (we're starting with medical students), educators, and creators or institutions who want to build and publish adaptive learning from their own material.

What content can I upload?

Books, slide decks, lecture recordings, images and scans, notes, problem sets, PDFs, and video. Twinbook detects the type and builds the learning architecture around it.

How is Twinbook different from a chatbot or a summarizer?

Twinbook builds a genuine understanding of your material — the concepts, the relationships, the progression — and grounds its answers in your content with citations, rather than free-associating. The result is personalized to each learner and tied back to sources.

Do you train AI models on my content?

No. We do not train or fine-tune models on user-uploaded content, learning data, private notes, conversations, learning memory, or institutional education records. We may fine-tune models on our own, licensed, public, or synthetic data — never yours. See Trust & Security for the full picture.

Is my data private and secure?

Yes. Your content and learning data are scoped to you and your workspace, encrypted in transit and at rest, and deletable. Details are on our Trust & Security and Data retention & deletion pages.

Can I export my notes?

Yes — you can export all of your notes at any time, including the drawings and images inside them. Your work is portable and yours to keep, so you're never locked in. See Export & portability.

Can I use Twinbook with patient data?

Twinbook is an educational study tool, not a clinical system. Please don't upload identifiable patient information (PHI) unless the right institutional agreement and controls are in place — see our HIPAA & PHI policy.

What does it cost?

There's a free plan to try Twinbook, an Essential plan for serious study, and a Premium plan for creators and power users. See Plans & Pricing.
